The Noble High School Band and Chorus took home five awards at the Worldstrides Music Festival held at the Riverside Cathedral in New York City. The Music Department traveled with 96 students and 17 chapones April 27 and 28, 2018.
Three ensembles from Noble HS performed under the direction of Mark Mumme and Rebecca DeWan: Concert Choir, the Chamber Singers, and the Concert Band. All three earned a gold rating, indicating a score above 90 from a panel of distinguished judges. The Concert Choir came in first place in their division, and the Chamber Singers and Concert Band finished in 2nd place in their divisions.
In addition, the band was awarded the “Adjudicator Award” for scoring above a 92.
Noble also won the final and most prestigious award of the night which is the “Sweepstakes for Total Program” award given to the school with the festival’s highest combined score for band and chorus.
While in New York, the Noble students went to the 9/11 Memorial Museum, a Broadway show, and took a dinner/dance cruise to the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor.
