The Noble High School Music Department would like to announce an upcoming concert on Tuesday, November 17 at 7pm. Over 200 band and chorus students will be performing patriotic selections. The concert is free and open to the public and will be held in the Hussey Auditorium at Noble HIgh School.
The Band will perform patriotic selections including a tribute to the men and women who are serving or have served in the United States Armed Forces.
The High School Chorale will perform “In Flanders Fields” which uses the text of the poem, of the same name, written by Dr. John McCrae in 1919. McCrae’s poem is a salute to the young men and women who have sacrificed their lives in warfare protecting the land we cherish. The Treble Choir will perform the National Anthem and “Holding out for a Hero.” The 8th grade chorus will sing “Dream Keeper,” a setting of a poem by Langston Hughes that invites readers to dream big even if it feels like the world is working against them. The Chamber Singers will perform “On Children,” a setting of text from Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet.
In addition to individual songs, the ensembles will combine forces on the finale piece: “Our America” which highlights patriotic music from a variety of time periods. This will surely be a show stopper you won’t want to miss!
