The Superintendent shared with the board that we will be hosting a viewing of “Most Likely To Succeed,” a movie that is primarily promoting personalized learning. It’s a very unique look at the delivery of education. We will have a formal viewing of the movie as well as a follow up panel to discuss the ideas within the movie.

The Superintendent then shared a letter of Thanks from Blake Pease, of Wells whose son participated in the combined Wells/Noble Hockey team.  Very positive approach and partnership.

The Superintendent then shared an update regarding a Youth in Sports Coaching Summit which will be held Saturday March 26 at 9:00 and run til 3:30 pm.

The Superintendent shared that we had a freon leak in one of the North Berwick freezers and we lost quite a bit of food.

The Superintendent shared with the board a legislative advocacy workshop on March 10, 2016 and encouraged board members to participate if possible.

The Superintendent shared with the board that the Noble Middle School Jazz Band has been invited to participate in the State Middle School Jazz Festival at Nokomis Regional High School on March 19th.

The Superintendent then shared with the board some of the work that is happening at Noble Middle School in preparation for the building project that is scheduled for next year. The board would like to discuss this further just to be sure that we are all on the same page. The current work that is being done is coming from this current budget. The board had a discussion regarding process and being sure that we are all up to speed on the details so that board members are fully aware. Regular updates would be beneficial to the board on how things are moving along, particularly when things change. Increased communication will be forthcoming to keep board members in the loop.

The board discussed setting a date for a board budget workshop.   March 10th will be a great opportunity.  Mr. Price also asked about clarity around the role as a board member. We’ll discuss this in the future as well.
